This baby possum was having a wonderful time rooting around in the ivy out back. The gorgeous spring weather seems to have the animal kingdom awake and stirring around here. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Three good things and one extra:
1. First trip to the urban farmers market this morning after their recent Spring re-opening.
2. Fresh from the farm eggs
3. London Broil marinating in preparation for the grill tonight
4. Skyping last night with 365er Terry Hall and his wife Jane about their upcoming plans to come through Charlotte and meet for lunch!! They are so delightful...I can't wait to meet in person!
You have come over all country Peggy, I didn't know you had possums in the USA ....do you consider them a pest like they do in NZ? He has rather a sweet face!
@happypat We do have possums, Pat, but ours aren't nearly as cute as the possums in Australia and NZ. This little fellow looks sweet now, however in a few months he will be as homely as it gets. I don't find them to be much of a pest...other than to occasionally eat the cat food I put out for Scrappy's feral friend, Pax. :)
We had a rabid possum by our front door and I called animal control. They said they couldn't come out until the next day and to use the back door. Had a trapper friend come over to take care of it with a snare - just as the kids got off the bus. Great timing. One kid runs in the house in tears, the other one sticks her head int he barrel and says "is is dead yet?!?!"
Blimey the prospect of Scrappy's feral friend is more scary than the possum I think! I was watching a programme that said raccoons are one of the most successfully adapted city-dwellers in the world now - they have more cute factor than Mr Possum bless him! @bpaquette Fab response from the authorities!
