The mom and her two little boys were waiting for the photographer to take his shot before they went on their way past him.
It looked to me like the photographer was taking a photo of the Christmas decoration (an ivy frog with a red velvet coat and top hat) still hanging on the lamp post, which was the original intended subject of my shot.
An unseen element of this vignette is another photographer, about a half block behind me, was taking a shot of me taking a shot of photographer #1. When I turned around, he turned around and tried to appear to be taking a shot of something entirely different. Mmm hmm...I know that move. I snapped a photo of him and will post it tomorrow. ☺
Three Good Things:
1. Being okay with imperfection
2. When the light rail ticket machine accepts my dollar bills on the first attempt
3. Sunny, 64°F (17C) days in mid-January
So, the photographer, namely you, takes a photo of the photographer and a great one at that! In all the time I've been on 365 I've never seen any one out using a tripod to take photos. I would think someone like this was doing it for the newspaper or magazine. I have a tripod, but have never used it and would feel rather self-conscious doing so out in the crowds. It's bad enough with my big camera and everyone else with their I-phones and small cameras :-) People stare at me sometimes, like what's this lady doing taking a photo of this and that. I love it!
Well us photographers know all the crafty moves......I like it when there are plenty of cameras around....love it in London when no one looks at you twice! This is a very interesting shot too, lots to take in! Why is the Chrustmas decoration still up & why is everyone arriving to photo it I wonder? I have never used my tripod yet....would be too embarrassed! Seen them at night in Blackpool though!
Ha, been in this exact situation, everyone taking photos of everyone and acting like they are not! Fun situaiton and shot. I do have to wonder why the decoration is still up...but it must be wonderful!
