Two of the most poignant images I've seen this Christmas. My niece, Adrienne, took these photos of my great-nephew, Colton. His Cub Scout pack took part in 'Wreaths Across America' to remember the fallen, to honor those serving, and to teach the value of freedom. I did some minor editing and put them in a collage to claim them for a 365 post.
(Also, I'm very proud of, and grateful to, Adrienne's husband, Capt. Matthew Carter, who is serving in S.Korea away from his family this Christmas).
A Good Thing:
From the Wreaths Across America website:
We encourage every volunteer who places a wreath on a veteran's grave to say that veteran's name aloud and take a moment to thank them for their service to our country. It's a small act that goes a long way toward keeping the memory of our veterans alive.
We are not here to “decorate graves." We're here to remember not their deaths, but their lives.
