Two of Greater Manchester's Police Force doing 'crowd control' at the Reebok Stadium for Saturdays Bolton Wanderers versus Norwich City Premier League Football Match.
Looks quite an easy task here as the only supporters in shot are an old timer grabbing a pre match ciggie (no smoking in the stadium)and a lady walking past him.
The old lady huddled in the left hand side of the image is a match day programme seller. She's been selling programmes outside the Wanderers for over 50 years.
The task of crowd control looks as easy a task as it was for Norwich to bridge the Wanderers defence. We gave away two sloppy goals and then had a man sent off just before half time.
Final score BWFC 1 Norwich City 2...... well at least Delia Smith was happy on Saturday night !
BTW : Do you think Bolton police force wear quite trendy uniforms? .....Completely different from Nottingham Police !!
..they look like unmounted mounted ploice with those coats.
great and funny crowd shot.
shame about he score, i however went to leeds, we were crap but won.
Looking at the guy on the right in the thumbnail I was thinking, "Where's the guy's head???" Upon closer examination, I see all is well with his noggin. ;) I'm just glad to see winter coats...makes me HAPPY! I love your explanation of all the things going on in your photo, Phil. Keep up the great work!
You can't beat our Northern police , I like the trousers tucked into the boots!! They don't look run off there feet do they ...just shows how law abiding we are ''up north'' !!! Bad luck with the score , my sister & family will be pleased though!!
This is a fav for me. Great "street shot" of the happenings at this event and you know I would love a crisp black and white. Really wonderful capture! The comments on the uniforms were quite funny. Again wonderful write up.
great and funny crowd shot.
