I was more interested in the brickwork and failing plaster when I took this (why do Italian building still look so awesome even when the rendering is coming off?!), but the photos all seem to be celebrating the wooden sculptures, or the person that made them. The street had a lot of wooden signposts mounted on the opposite wall. I wish I'd paid more attention at the time now!
