Like so many other flowers around here (at least that's how it feels), the yellow iris is an invasive species... but I do think they're beautiful! I had noticed a particularly pretty one that I wanted to photograph, but it was gone by the time I returned (even though it was just the next day). I found this little stand of them a bit further upstream; they were past their prime, but still somewhat in bloom. I thought they made a nice partial border for this view of the setting sun, along with the leaves from the tree in the opposite corner.
