My only chance for the word today is to dig into the archive to a summer's day when we visited friends. It was a great day for Jinks: he could smell rabbit and he was determined to find it. But Hazel, our friends' lop-eared rabbit, was safe in his hutch behind the green summer-house door (or sometimes sitting with me - had to look after him, although I think he's named from Watership Down.)
It kept Jinks occupied for absolutely ages.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Wonderful Hazel! This had made me laugh - I wouldn't dare take Finlay anywhere near a rabbit he is bad enough if he sees a cat! Great shot for today's topic - it's a hard one!
Thank you! I really thought I'd have to pass on today's word but as I lay my head on the pillow to sleep last night, this suddenly popped into my brain! (Finlay gives me hope!!!)
Hahaa - I took Monty into a garden with guinea pigs in run once. He kept running up to my friend and then back to the guineas - clearly trying to tell her that there were 'things' in her garden that she needed to deal with!
@judithg I can imagine MOnty liking the guinea pigs. A neighbour puts their guinea pigs on their front lawn in a run in the summer. It has taken a lot of training to get Jinks to walk past without trying to get to them!
Thanks! Well I've seen what Jinks did with a rat and I've seen what he did with a mouse so I doubt we would still have some good friends if he'd found the rabbit!

You did a lovely collage to tell the story.
