These abutilon flowers were growing on our little cutting in a pot last week. Now they are replaced by 3 more flowers blowing bravely in the breeze.
The storm locally here in the central southern part of England has not been more than torrential rain at bedtime followed by very strong wind all night. This morning we have bright sun, blue sky and luminous white clouds.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
They almost look like ball-gowns, just beautiful Hazel and so unusual. We had a dead calm night until 7.15 this morning when suddenly all hell broke loose for about 20 minutes - loads of trees down over the road and in our drive! No power until 30 minutes ago but we really can't complain. alternately blue skies and then grey, rainy skies here now but at least its over. My daughter in Brighton lives in a basement flat and an enormous tree fell in their road and completely blocked their entrance so they were trapped indoors until the men came with their chainsaws!
That's scary to be trapped indoors by a tree and you had a difficult time. We seem to have escaped very lightly, just a few small bits of branches down from the willows on the green which I thought strange as I expected them to be pliable.

Now I'm looking for a garden pixie!
Gemma, thank you and yes we are fine. Hope you are too and the business is booming?
