This is my other orchid which is currently re-flowering. It has only a few flowers but they are nice and large. I've tried to capture the sheen on its petals but not sure how well I've succeeded.
If anybody is feeling envious that I have 2 orchids re-flowering, I'd like to add that I have 5 others which show no signs of doing anything at all plus 2 that Jinks' dogsitter gave me. I live in dread of her asking me about them next time we take Jinks for his doggy holiday as the last one she gave me died.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
A great close up of this beautiful orchid. You `ve doing great.
To my orchid book Phalaenopsis has to keep on a light place without and direct sunlight on it Temp. +/- 22/25 C. no less then 18 Celc. and with not much of chances.
Just wet the roots , not water left in the jar. If blooming has done increase the branch till the first (Eye ? shoot ?) +1 cm . A second time blooming and then cut it of complete . It will make a new one. Success.
Nita, I think the main requirement is patience! It was ages before I got one re-flowering. Also scroll up the comments here to see Pyrrhula's @pyrrhula useful hints.
Time is most important, I think - I did once buy an artificial orchid stem of flowers and stuck it in the pot when I got fed up with a plant with just leaves!
