Oh, joy! On my 3rd visit to Marwell Zoo hoping to see the Amur leopard cub, there she was out of the den in the enclosure with her mum. She's now three and a half months old and a welcome addition to the endangered species program at Marwell.
Photography conditions were far from ideal: shooting through a large glass viewing pane; reflections of other visitors in the glass; dappled light and shade in the enclosure; mum and cub mostly in motion.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Oh Hazel! I'd never have guessed you were working with anything but ideal conditions! This kitten is adorable!!! I'm thrilled for you! It's easy to imagine your delight!
Soooo Sweeeet. Third time lucky for you I am so pleased for you that you saw and photographed this sweetest little baby. A wonderful shot and a FAV. for me
Hazel, I saw this on the trending page and had to take a closer look right away! She is adorable! Wonderful capture despite not so wonderful conditions. I need to check out her mum now!
A photographer standing next to me with some SERIOUS equipment gave me the tip of sticking the end of my camera lens up against the glass to eliminate reflections.
What an amazing capture, Hazel. She is so beautiful and you captured such wonderful detail of her. A great tip you got to put your lens against the glass. I have put mine through the fencing at the zoo though not always an option. FAV
That's such a kind comment! I've spent more time processing these shots than I've ever done with anything! Thanks for fav,
Thank you, Kane, and thank goodness for photo processing software! (the eyes gave me a bit of trouble but got there in the end....)
