I used to find that tulips' stems flop quickly, until a friend told me that putting the cellophane wrapping in the bottom of the vase, not only holds the stems more securely, but seem to make them last longer.

I've had the opposite problem as I think floppy tulips make good shots but the ones I buy now just won't flop!!
