purple sweet peas

Thank you to everyone who responded to my yesterday's post about my dad's return home from the war.

A numerical quirk: I have realised that 25th May was on a Friday this year as well as in 1945.
My dad recorded in his dairy having a lie-in until mid-day on the Saturday - I think nobody could have argued with that!

Purple - my favourite colour - and sweet peas because I remember my dad growing them in our country garden. These were growing in a garden we visited during our stay in Hythe, Kent last week.

Purple is my son's favourite colour too! And sweet peas are one of my hubby's favourite flowers. We have some planted but not flowering yet. These are lovely.
And yes, I think a lie in was well deserved!
