Reconstruction of l'Hermione at Rochefort

This is the frigate that Lafayette sailed in (with 300 merry men) to Boston to fight in the American War of Independence (shhh - against the English). It's hoped to replicate the voyage in 2015.
The ship has been under construction in dry dock in the Naval Dockyard since 1997.
lovely photo Hazel beautiful reflections too.

What a beautiful ship! (not a patch on my Cariad of course). Mind you 300 merry men on her would be a trifle matey wouldn't it. Beautiful sharp picture.

Love it that people do make replica`s of those old vessels. We have several in our country mostly build by volunteers and of school/work jobs .
It`s a beautiful ship and a great capture of it and her reflections in the water
