three's a crowd

The alder tree beetles are busy again this year chomping through all the leaves on the tree and transforming them into lace.

What amazes me is their specific taste: two different species of tree next door to this one are untouched.

Peter, the beetles were also here last year. The only consolation is that it does not kill the tree but it is not a pretty sight1
