A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
I've been wondering if anyone would comment on the fruit and you are the only one! They do look like apples but are actually nectarines. They don't ripen this time of the year so I buy them to look at for a few days and then I make a compote of them in the oven with a little orange juice and a spoon of honey - nice for breakfast.
Maybe I've learnt to be. Funny thing, those nectarines I said don't ripen this time of year: I cut one yesterday ready to make a compote with it and it was perfectly ripe and delicious!
