A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
I love this! I am currently having to donate much of my "library" due to a severe lack of space, and it has been really difficult. I love being a book nut!
Hazel -a woman of my own taste !! I also love books , not just to read but for their tactile quality ,so a kindle is a no-no- for me as well ! Love your well organised book case
We've had to get rid of some books too, but I nearly always regret it some time later! You can lose yourself in a book and be somewhere else. I love not only the content of say, novels, but also the style of writing of different authors. Thanks for the FAV!
Well we understand each other exactly in this matter! I have one more book case with all my French novels in and then upstairs in the spare room one other with miscellaneous and language learning materials and my son has all his sci-fi and fantasy novels similarly well organised in two huge bookcases! My husband tends to get rid of novels when he has read them.
I love modern technology but have rejected my kindle after trying so hard to like it. Every time I read a book on it the book kind of 'disappeared' from my memory afterwards, can't really explain it, just a feeling of emptiness that I never have if I read a real book!
Great shot! Must confess to loving my kindle for reading novels, but also love turning the pages of a book. You just can't dip into a kindle like you can a book!
I can't imagine life without books although I do have a kindle as well which I read in bed! You can't beat a book though when you want to read up on something to do with photography, a recipe, art, etc. My bookshelves are bursting with books but like everyone else, I can't imagine parting with them

I know nothing at all about Dr Seuss and got my idea for the pic from somebody else who said they had found a website of Seuss quotes!
And I found this one which wis very appropriate to me!
Pleased you got your Seuss shot. I don't have any Seuss amongst my huge book collection ( know I have too many but can't resist buying more.
The novels I take to Barter Books in Alnwick. Google it if you have the time. It is amazing if you are a book lover
I do indeed, but some better than others. (English is my best language!!!) Is that the English poetry book you are looking at? Or the Spanish dictionary?
i love books! and i have tons of them. i cry every time i see a discarded book. lovely shot, hazel. and this almost is a twin of one of my shelves - french, german, poetry, books! honi soit qui mal y pense. :-)
Errr - I've been a book nut all my life, Darren! But I only found out today that it had a special title!!!!!!!
I love books, not just to read but also to physically have them and could never envisage getting a kindle, for all their practical advantages.

I'm a great researcher for what interests me!
Aha, you are like me and want to know what's in other people's bookshelves! Maybe I'll see a shot of yours one day?!
Patricia, that's really interesting and you've confirmed my suspicions of kindles! the thought of it seems so bland, colourless and lifeless to me.

thanks, I've bookmarked Barter Books to have a look - although I am a great Amazon fan!
Amazing how many like-minded people there are here when it comes to books.

I find it amazing how one can be drawn to like-minded folk by their photos - we must have antenna pokiing out which sense it!
