We went for a walk along the river at Warsash. Every time I go, I hope to see a kingfisher just because I saw him one Boxing Day obligingly sitting for quite a long time on a post. Quite a group of people were watching him on that occasion and somebody said he was often to be seen there. Not to be seen today and a shame as I was armed with my new zoom.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Lovely composition - kingfishers are always hard to spot. When you do, they often either flit off before you've focused or they are hidden in too much undergrowth! Elusive little devils! That's why we love them so much
Well perhaps we did and didn't know we did! On second thoughts nobody had a Newfoundland puppy. We're about a 20 min drive from Warsash, also have friends who live there. You must be the 365er geographically closest to where we live or vice versa!
Lovely shades of blue. Too bad about the kingfisher. We have one on our pond and I have seen him exactly once. And that was just a glimpse. Beautiful but very elusive.
