Dyed orchids - how very bizarre! (Well, that's my opinion.)
I met a friend for tea and cake in the excellent restaurant at the garden centre. When I returned to my car, parked in the shade, the temperature on the dash was 30C but the forecast for tomorrow is for at least 10C below that.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
I don't quite see the point of these Hazel . They will just revert to their natural colour when they take up water! Weather here for tomorrow looks really bad
No , No and No again .They are painted , horrify .
Do they cost 23 pound ? Ridiculous , we pay less than € 10 for one with two flower stems . So take a plane , buy it here and you still save money.
I agree totally - the colour is really lurid. My white orchid with that double flower was just £5 in the supermarket and I've found that orchids I buy in the supermarket are superior, and last longer, than those in the garden centres. (But it's not quite that cheap to take the plane to Amsterdam, Ferry!!!)
Yuck! I can't bear dyed flowers. Graham and I lived in Singapore when we got married and brought hundreds of orchid stems home for our flower decorations - only white and yellow ones tho, not blue!

OK - approximately £250 return for two people - a lot of orchids!!!
I agree they are truly yuck!!!
