She's not in a state of indecision, of course, but waiting for her handler's call/sign to fly.
I've decided to end my series of shots from our visit to Liberty's Centre in the New Forest with this one of the young African barn owl.
I love barn owls and these feathers look to me like exquisite old lace.
Thanks for all your enthusiasm for my shots of the birds of prey - it's been uplifting and encouraging!
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
I have loved your shots of the birds of prey. this is a fitting one to end with, she is beautiful, you have captured such detail and what detail, her markings are amazing
Beautiful Hazel & I agree with you, very much like beautiful old lace, I thought that prior to reading your description. The beautiful owl's will be a hard act to follow but you always come up with something to be amazed by or drooled over, well done as usual & thank you.
The feathers do look like lace! That was the first thing I noticed. So pretty. I love the different pov - you don't often get to see the back of the owl. Very nice capture!
Oh wow. Look at the patterns in her feathers. I cannot believe how they can train birds! THey say they have bird brains, but I think they must be smart!
