along the prom at Worthing....

... we spied the Canadian flag blowing brightly in the breeze and found a memorial to the men and women of Canada who were billeted in the area and who served in WW1 and WW2, including in the D-Day landings.

I like the spirit of D-Day veteran Bernard Jordan (90 years old this week) who donned his medals, put his raincoat on over them and sneaked out of his care home in the south of England on Thursday and travelled to Normandy for the celebrations:

@quietpurplehaze Funny enough Anne and I were there yesterday we drove to Sheffield Park first of all, Its a National Trust place with Gardens and Lakes very beautiful and impressive once we toured the lakes and ground we drove to Worthing we arrived about 3:30 pm and arrived home last night at 7:45pm we are both back to work on Monday : - (

Bernard sounds like a legend. After doing what they did for us, they should be able to do what they like. These vets are all heroes to me.
