This pair of snowy owls flew in today, all the way from Abergavenny where their sculptor, Daren Greenhow, lives.
We first saw them 2 years ago at an Art in the Garden Exhibition. After Ray had made Jinks' enclosure, we thought they would look good in there. We had no details other than a photo of them but with it Neil managed to trace Daren online.
So Jinks now has for company:
a re-sprayed copper colour Buddha
a dog which rocks in the wind
a pair of Welsh snowy owls
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Who-o-o-s checking out whom?! Those owls are nothing short of fabulous! Is Daren in Wales? I LOVE seeing the art people on here collect! The pieces are always quite wonderful, these at the top of the list as well!
I agree and we could never have guessed what that night out would lead to, and how much easier life would be without Jinks having the run of the garden, barking at everything etc!!
Yes, and making it has caused Ray no end of problems with stuff that didn't fit, bolts that fell apart and the doggy gate we got (from a firm in Scotland) was so awkward it hurt my back to use it so he got a bespoke wooden gate made locally - at not inconsiderable cost .
@quietpurplehaze I will warn you for some you may not think about. My second camera is that havy it become a problem. If I`ve to carry it a whole afternoon I hardly can stand it.
I just love snowy owls! It's a wonderful photo I love how Jinks is watching the owls they are intently keeping an eye on him. I love the shadows been cast on the floor or deck and the dog and those orangey red flowers provide a nice pop of color.
Thank you so much for the fav - I did especially enjoy your comment very much too!

That's very kind to think of me, Ivan. I've found the camera online and will have a look.
Thanks for the warning - that's the reason I don't want a DSLR because CSCs are lighter. But perhaps that might still be a problem.......
And I trust you noted they are Welsh - to boot!
I think we'll go with Gwyn and Eira (not sure how you pronounce the latter?)
Oh thank you - I'd got the pronunciation totally wrong! Or he could keep an eye on them!!
