Fighting wildfires; return to base

I'm thankful there are people who are willing to work so hard and put their lives on the line to protect us.

Had an interesting late afternoon watching the helicopters return after delivering their last load of the day to the wildfires in the nearby forests.
Great piece of photo-reportage and a suitable homage to those who place their lives on the line in the course of their daily work.

Oh, fabulous. We saw several wildfires while crossing through VA Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, mostly in Nelson County around Lovingston. I just posted a picture of the smoke on the mountain.

A great shot of the chopper. Most of those fires are started by human activities. We should be more carefull on nature.

I like how the blades are blurry with their fast-action whirring yet the rest of the details are captured in focus. Good coverage of the event, Kathy!

I/we can never express our gratitude to those who risk all to protect those they don't know, but yet are committed through selflessness to give their all to provide succour and rescue for the endangered.
