You asked if the camera in my photo was a new one; nope, it's an older SLR film model, one I bought as a teenager (which was quite a while ago now), and glad I saved as it's come in handy as a prop for pictures. :) I have a digital camera now which is what I used to take the photo.
I noticed the "wide mouth" label too and thought it was something fun to have in the shot. I like deviled eggs, but I've never had pickled eggs. I'm not sure I'd like them soaked in brine (I'm guessing that's what pickles them). But I do like this shot!
@thewatersphotos Yes he does Gary. He makes pickles a jar at a time and eggs have been his passion recently. @pyrrhula Thank you so much Pyrrhula @digitalrn I like them red, too, but really don't care for beets, so it's sort of a waste to use the juice just to color eggs. @lyndemc He's always telling me what to take a photo of, and most times I ignore him or tell him to take a photo of whatever himself. I took a few that got the Ball name on the jar, but the eggs and spices weren't so prominent. @olivetreeann Thank you Ann. He uses a sweet brine, think bread and butter pickles. They have a nice flavor that's not as strong as deviled eggs made with sweet pickles. Good on a salad. @jamibann Thank you Issi. @skstein Thanks Sandy. Maybe you'll try them sometime just to see what they're like.
