Get Pushed week 250

My challenge this week was to take an action shot. This was hard for me because when I drove around to find some action, there wasn't much of it. In addition I'm somewhat hesitant to take photos of kids who I don't know. Another challenge that presented itself in this and the other photo I posted for the challenge was the fence. You can still see it a little in the photo or at least the blur it left.
@dawnee hope this is ok for an action shot. I also took another one of the pitcher. Thanks for the challenge. I also challenged myself to take something in action besides the windmill in the back yard. So it became a double challenge and I enjoyed it.

Job well done, Kathy! You caught some exciting action here what with both the player and the umpire running. I got a chuckle about your having a tough time finding some activity to photograph. It'd be about the same for me. You did good!

Hi! I am your get-pushed partner for the week. I've been looking through your photographs and enjoyed them a lot! But I was puzzled a bit as none of your pictures gives a sense of where you live. And since your description also doesn't state it, it is still a complete mystery to me. So, what I would like to challenge you to for this week is to do a shot that represents best the area where you live. You can do a single photo or a collage. Think of it as you got an assignment from a travel magazine who needs you to take photos for their issue about your region/city. Let me know if this wouldn't work and I can come up with something else! Looking forward to your challenge.

@olivetreeann Thank you Ann. Lots of action. Even the guy on the left yelling at his teammates to get the ball.
@dawnee Thank you.
@lynnz Thank you
@vera365 Thanks Vera for your kind words. I am working on this challenge already.
@peterlgrave Thanks Peter.
@craftymeg I appreciate your comments Margaret.
@kwind I don't have kids, and don't go to the softball games so I was surprised to see the man running along with the boy. He's some kind of umpire, I believe. Thanks for your comments.

@pyrrhula Thank you Pyrrhula.
@thewatersphotos Thanks Gary.

Great panning for action Kathy, I have been trying it and find it really hard so well done!

This is outstanding! You really captured the action and without showing faces of the kids. I share your reluctance to photograph other people's kids.

@mandygravil Thank you Mandy. Actually I put my camera in shutter priority and set the shutter speed high (1/899) to catch the action. I'm not good at panning. It ususally gives a clear image of the subject with the background a blur. Keep practicing, you'll get it.
@mcsiegle Thank you Mary. Yes it's tricky to photograph people, especially children, sometimes.
