The first day on the Rocky Mountaineer took us from Vancouver BC to Kamloops BC. The mountains were lush and green and as we went east became drier and more rocky. The area is very dry and was hit with some devastating fires last year. Hopefully none to come.
@corinnec By day two, I was experiencing "Awesome Scenery Overload"! Thank you Corinne. It was a great trip. @rensala Thank you Renee. I'm back now, reliving it through photos. @wakelys Hard to choose which photo to show. Too much to take it all in. Thank you.
Fabulous collage of an area that is very familiar to me. I haven't traveled on the Rocky Mountaineer but I have driven through the Fraser Canyon many, many times. The forest fires in the summer have been really bad the last few years, primarily the result of climate change. I am glad that you enjoyed the scenery, it is what our province is known for. The Rocky Mountains are also spectacular but we have to share them with Alberta.
Wonderful recap of your trip! I'm glad to see that you also put the camera down and just looked. I think we photographers get sucked into the thinking that we have to record EVERYTHING and forget to just look and enjoy the experience every once in a while! haha
@cdcook48 Interesting information. I saw many spots where the trees had been burned. My brother was telling me of a town that was totally lost, but I believe it was further south than this set of tracks. @haskar Thank you @olivetreeann Thanks Ann and I read that somewhere so tried to take it to heart. @cocokinetic Thank you
@randystreat We have a lot of wildfires every year in California. I worry about the wildlife, animals and trees as well as structures and people's homes. It is so devastating and difficult to rebuild their lives and live looking at burned out areas. It changes the landscape for 20+ or more years.

Thank you one and all for your views and comments. I got to the point on this trip that I stopped taking photos and just looked.
