A walk to the end of the pier is part of my daily ritual and today I was so surprised to see a heron wandering around. I've never before seen one here and I've been walking on this pier for years. These fishermen were oblivious as the heron waited patiently a few feet behind them. I think the bird was hoping they'd catch him a fish so he didn't have to.
This is such a great storytelling shot. The heron looks like s/he's trying to hang out with the fishermen! Or maybe wonders why they are using those strings instead of just diving down to pick up the fish they want. Love it!
