Today was the first day since the storm that anyone was allowed to go back into the park and onto the pier. Fortunately, this pier was high enough that the water did not reach the upper decking. If you look through this pier, you will notice a pier in the background that wasn't so lucky. There are so many of the piers along this stretch that were totally wiped out. Only the Pilings left standing. The walkway at the very beginning of the pier did sustain damage when a very large oak crashed down on top of it and crushed the railings. That has all been cleared and repaired. Hope I can start seeing more birds now.
