The sky before the storm

This was taken about an hour before a torrential thunder storm passed over our area after a rather hot and humid day. The hail was some of the largest I have seen in the uk larger than a uk pound coin the largest were about an inch in diameter. Amazing how quickly the weather can change.
Beautiful shot. Good job you don't see some of our hailstones here in Oz. They are so big they could fracture your skull, ha ha. A friend of ours left his car outside during a hailstorm a few weeks ago and his car roof now looks like a golf ball. It cost $4000 to fix it.

@onewing Thanks. I have heard of cars been damaged in the UK but its pretty unusual. That said I don't think I would have gone for a walk in it!

Amazing how you just can't tell of the approach of heavy hailstorms. A few clouds but hailstones are always a surprise when they suddenly land. Lovely scene

That sized hail can really do some damage. Love the sky before the storm rolled in.

Beautiful sky. Those hail stones sound enormous! And dangerous.
