We moved 'Fraser' in from the shed this evening. He's now acclimatising to the living room, with no heating and a window open. I'll gradually let warmth back into the room over several days so as not to give him too much of a shock!
He's a Fraser fir as they are more fragrant, not too needle droppy and not quite a bushy as a Norway spruce or Nordman fir.
@gamelee I realised that myself too! I do like trees and they're an easy option at this time of year! We almost didn't have a tree at all for the house as I've been working so much we've not had time to think about getting a tree, but I had one day off at the weekend, spent visiting family, and ended up calling at a tree place on a whim on the way home and coming home with this one! It should help me out over the next week when I'm struggling for a photo!
Does poor Fraser live in a shed all year and then have an outing each Christmas?? It's a wonderful concept not to kill a tree each year - and I'm sure it's a nice shed! :)
@robz No, I'm afraid not, it's a cut tree so he's slowly dying. I don't like that but it was this or no tree this time. It was in the shed because it's not good to bring them from outdoors, where they're sold, straight into a warm house. In the shed, he had outside temperature but with a bit of shelter from the walls so slightly warmer that just being outdoors and I'm gradually warming the living room now after keeping it chilled with open windows!
@roachling Ohh - that all sounds very complicated. Poor Fraser - I was quite happy to think he was still alive....... LOL... - but he is getting a pretty cool wake - all that Xmas cheer! Have a great Xmas ! :)
