Summer - know where the nests are - avoid at all costs. Winter - they're asleep - no worries. Sure sign of climate change - this 1 inch Bull Ant was letting me know that he was still in charge. They never back down - they jump a long way - they sting like Billy-oh!!

@dkbarnett Hi Delwyn - I only went this close because he was a little subdued - and lots of his mates seemed to be in their nest. They are pretty aggressive. Impressive looking though...

@kiwinanna @30pics4jackiesdiamond Hi Liana and Jackie - I could get pretty close because he was on guard duty for the nest - so he didn't come out too far - and he was pretty subdued. They are quite scary!! Thanks for your kind comments too - Cheers R0b
