There was a strange, overgrown, concrete structure in a paddock. The man with a bobcat excavated this - homemade concrete with bottles embedded for strength? and a metal pushing/pulling device. It may have been the site for a large, homemade concrete incinerator.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond That's a good thought Jackie! There was a variety of them - from milk bottles to beer bottles to apple cider bottles. They all looked pretty generic though - nothing with a brand name on it. We're guessing that it dates back to about WW1 when the region was used as a soldier resettlement scheme. It was probably the concrete foundation for their large incinerator.. Cheers Rob
Hi Dorothy and William. Thanks for your comments and interest. We think this was probably used as an incinerator by the original settlers on the block. We've since found out that the bottles were mainly used to allow them to use less concrete to make the blocks - it's all been very interesting. :) @illinilass@will_wooderson
@olivetreeann Hi Ann - these were used as an edge on a concrete slab. We think there may have been a big metal cylinder on top of them and it was all used as an incinerator. All quite old... :)
