A lovely, spacious oasis in the middle of the city..
The Roma St Gardens have a special significance to our family. My Mum worked as a tracer for The Brisbane City Council. She helped draw up the plans for the development of this park - way back in about 1940 when it was all done by hand. I actually still have all of her pens and tools and some examples of her work... :)
How special this is, wonderful to see and read your family connections, historical for the all the people in the area too.
Great photo…very very beautiful spot
I really enjoyed those gardens last time we were up there. beautifully cooling for we people from the south unused to Brisbane's heat! Lovely story about your Mum's involvement
It's so beautiful, it must bring back a lot of memories and give you such a sense of pride knowing the role your Mum placed in the creation of this special place!
Unusual viewpoint of the the gardens. My sister did a stainless steel scupture - somewhere in amidst the garden beds - quite some years back. But, it is still there.
Great photo…very very beautiful spot
