Can I come in? by rosiekind

Can I come in?

Baby blackbird spends all his time hanging around us and he keeps coming on to the doorstep and I'm sure he will probably come in. He tries to feed himself on the lawn but he doesn't seem to have the idea that if he hops like his parents, the worms will think it's rain and come up nearer the surface so that he can grab one for his tea! He doesn't really fly onto the sundial to get some raisins and suet pellets either although I know he can fly onto the birdbath which is much higher. I'm so frightened that a cat or some predator will get him and I haven't seen his brother today who seems to keep an eye on him.
A super capture and a sweet story -which shows your humane nature --kind by name & kind by nature !! It seems he has adopted you as his adoptive provider -- you can not help but care for these defenseless creatures & give them a helping hand !

How simple it would be if he understood 'humanspeak'!

I am surprised his parents aren't still around helping him out if he still is 'clueless'...and I never thought about birds hopping sounding like rain to bring the worms up!!!

Love how you've captured this shot through the doorway, very inviting.

I like the framing, but like you, worry about the baby bird.

Beautifully framed! It is worrying about predators - but that's why birds lay several eggs.
