Rose bud in December

I was just off to work and spotted this rose on the rockery. I thought I might not have time for taking pics today so stopped quickly to take a shot.

My fridge has gone wrong so I've been off to town to see if I could buy another one. It's so difficult because I want a tall one (but not too tall!) with a small ice box in it to store my icecream and bread which I take out each day as I want to use it. It is just so hard to get one as they all seem to be larder fridges and also they are too tall to get under my wall cupboard. I think when Steve gets home I shall ask him if he can move the cupboard up a bit higher. The fridge I've got is only 7 years old and it only needs a new thermostat but you can't buy one direct from Zanussi as they don't make them any more. How stupid is that! Of course they want you to buy a new fridge - it's ridiculous that we live in this throwaway world and they wonder why we have global warming!
Beautiful shot, Rosie. I sympathise with you as it seems ridiculously impossible to get what you want to replace anything. The lock broke on our garage door and a company wanted £1,250 to fit a new door. They said our door was obsolete and we probably would not find a new lock. So Ray got online, found a lock for £20 and fitted it himself.

A lovely rose!! It's amazing there are still flowers about in December!!It's so annoying when things go wrong and could be fixed quite easily if the parts were obtainable!!

Beautiful rose but I feel your frustration with the fridge. We had to pay £300 for a new computer bit in ours after about 14 months (12 months' warranty) and then we got another one replaced for free after 6 months because it broke again and they admitted it was a design fault (no refund for the first one or the ruined food). Drives me crazy but at least it's still going after 10 years.

Beautiful shot....you could stare at that and it just relaxes you! I hear you about the appliances...by deep freeze (freezer chest) is about that old and the lid fills with frost, won't stay up, and the light won't work. Very irritating.

Beautiful Rose. Last time I bought a refrigerator (last year) the salesman said they only last about seven years now. My mom had one for twenty-seven years. The older ones were built to last.
