He thinks I can't see him

After meeting one of my ex colleagues from work when I worked for the NHS, I went for a walk in Ampthill Park. I didn't really see many birds although I did hear them including a green woodpecker but he didn't show himself!

I've sorted out my new camera and after taking the pics in the park I came home to make some more tweaks as I couldn't remember how to set the single point focus properly so I had to resort to looking at the book I bought (not the manual). I hate manuals and never read them! Despite not having the camera on single point AF, I did manage to get some pics but I found it rather frustrating and had to resort to manual focus. However, I've sorted it out so hopefully I shouldn't have too many problems from now on - fingers crossed!
Wonderful! They might be destructive vermin but aren't they cute?

Are those beech nuts he's tucking into? I must change my focus to single point & see if it actually works....

@judithg I'm not sure but when I took this, I hadn't sorted the focus out properly but it is all ready for tomorrow!

They do look so sweet but we have a bit of a problem with them around where I live as there are so many of them. Great colours. Many thanks for identifying my little chaffinch, I really wasn't 100% sure!
