It's another lovely day and I've been for a walk along Wood Lane this morning. I saw lots of birds as usual but when I came back, I thought to myself, I see just as many birds in the garden! However, it's always nice to see them in their natural environment - the hedgerows. After I named this pic, I wondered whether to have a daily/weekly theme for one of my albums such as "the day of............", e.g goldfinch, blue-tit, etc. Those people who have been following me for ages will remember that in one of my albums I chose a colour to post pics of each week so I would post a pic of red things, blue things, etc. It gave me a bit of a challenge so I might think of doing something like this again with birds or something.

Lovely goldfinch!! I have been watching them in my garden this morning - they are coming every day to feed with the family - so lovely to watch. Did you see Springwatch last night? They were showing the flithy goldfinch nest when suddenly an adder went into the nest and took a chick. They really have the dirtiest nests and the smell must have attracted the snake!! Yuk!!
