I didn't know which one to post so I thought I would post them both. The one on the left was the first shot and then he got down even lower for the second shot. Some of the first shots taken with Big Bertha down Wood Lane yesterday.
They are both cute- but the second is (imho) the better of the two. Compositionally, placing your subject in the center of a shot somewhat flattens the dynamics, but slightly to the side as in the second shot brings the viewer into the picture. Interest wise, as Darryl pointed out, in the second shot we feel as if the kitty is ready to pounce in a split second and her/his eyes are looking more directly into the camera.
