It's going to be mostly BIF shots today. As you can see, we've had blue skies, sunshine but it's been very cold. I prefer it that way though rather than grey and damp. I took a long walk this morning up Wood Lane to see whether I could see the stonechat again but of course, I didn't! Anyway, I carried on walking past where I had seen him all the way up to Sheerhatch Wood hoping to see the white pheasant but no luck there either. However, I did get a lot of nice robin shots which I will spare you from and this little blue tit caught my eye before he decided to fly off. However, I was lucky enough to get a shot of him taking his leave.
This afternoon I decided to go and look for the penduline tit and decided to go another way which I thought would be cleaner and a shorter walk as I had walked about 3 miles this morning. I was to be disappointed there as well as I met a man walking back from the lake and asked him if it was still there. He said no as he had been there since 9 o'clock this morning and hadn't seen it. I could tell by his accent that he wasn't from round these parts so asked him where he had come from, to which he replied Yorkshire! I only drove 5 miles and could get home within 20 minutes or less but he had a long drive back to Yorkshire.
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs and for visiting my project.
Sounds like you really like birds - you seem to have a wide variety. Our are all dull coloured but some with lovely songs -the latter, not seen on 365! What is BIF? - "Bent in front"?
Well captured, Rosie - these shots are not easy. I envy you your knowledge of birds; I am still learning about the birds in my area and I am coming to the conclusion that birds are the most profound creatures on this earth.
@gilbertwood It has become an obsession! Thanks for your kind comments and Happy New Year to you too
