I'm not sure whether ducks pair up for life but I suspect not as some of my pics from last year show male mallards having a go at a female and the other ducks holding her under the water. To me, they seem a bit brutal during the breeding season! However, this pair looked as though they were pairing up in preparation for the breeding season which won't be far away. They were swimming on the main lake at Priory Country Park this afternoon. I called for a very short visit (only half an hour and some of that was spent walking through from the car park in the business park). I tried to leave work a bit earlier (but didn't really achieve this as I'm particularly busy at the moment) as I missed the egg seller and pet food seller on the market in Kempston last week as they packed up a bit earlier due to the weather being so awful and I needed some seed for Bas and some more eggs. I like the eggs I buy from the egg lady as they are free range and she usually has some extra large ones. Today however, she only had organic extra large ones which were a bit dearer at £2 for 6 so I bought half a dozen of those and half a dozen large free range ones which weren't organic. They will be fine for cooking though. Why am I rambling on?!!!!
Sorry and thanks for being patient with me and my commenting. I'm always so pleased with everyone's generosity in viewing my pics and giving them Favs. Thank you
Great shot Rosie....
