I drove along the Budna Road to Franklin's Farm Shop where I bought some rib of beef for Sunday's roast. The butcher went into the cold room to get this huge section of beef which he then prepared by sawing off some of the bones, tying the string on each rib, etc. He then cut off 2 lots of 1 rib section and weighed it out and priced it up for me - a whopping £47+ for the 2 ribs. I wasn't really intending buying so much but after all his trouble, I bought it anyway and have put some in the freezer.
Anyway, on the way, I stopped the car because right there in front of me were about 8 or 9 pheasants and they kept running across the road, jumping about and generally pecking round in the grass. The first shots I took were hazy because the windscreen on my car is filthy! So out I got, no coat on and it was freezing cold, but it's necessary sometimes to get the shot to suffer slightly LOL. The road is very narrow so I had to park halfway on the grass as 2 cars passed by despite it being a minor road in the countryside.
Anyway, this was just one of the shots I got of the cock bird and in my Bits & Bobs album, I shall post a shot of a hen bird.
Thank you so much for getting both of yesterday's shots on PP and for all your kind comments and Favs
A wonderful capture of Mr P scurrying along as they usually do !
But that rib of beef really tickled my fancy - being that the rib is my favourite and most tasty cut of beef ,in my view !! But a shock at the cost !! --never mind having some in the freezer for future use is a bonus !! Shall be thinking of you enjoying the rib and all the trimmings this Sunday !!
