On the roof

This was actually taken yesterday but I thought I would post it anyway. Today, although I was supposed to have a day's leave, I have been really busy. First I went to a friend's funeral in the village and the church was packed - she was a well loved kind person who sadly died much too young! Then I went to meet my friends for lunch and these were people I worked with in the NHS in the good old days! I then had to be into work for a meeting which started at 2.30pm so it was all a bit of a rush. I got home at 4 o'clock so didn't have time to go for a long walk so I just went along Wood Lane and didn't really see many birds down there. I did however see some buzzards miles away and took some pics of them floating about in the sky and cropped them to death but they weren't very good. Next week I am having 2 hours with a professional photographer to talk about buying a DSLR and once I've got the new camera, I am going to have a day with him teaching me how to use it with the offer of a day spent at Shuttleworth birds of prey centre to help me with bird photography. I'm really looking forward to it.
Hi Rosie, Crackin shot and great focus. If you need any input re a new camera then happy to help. Main thing is down to budget as I am sure you are aware. I had a day at Shuttleworth quite recently and enjoyed it so with a professional that should be really good.

Happy shopping

How exciting for the new camera! And that sounds like a good way to go...with someone to help you decide and then teach you!

Very nice shot of the blackbird. Good luck with the new camera. Make sure that you have a day or two to think before you buy anything though. It is a big step. You seem to get a lot of pleasure out of using the camera that you have now, and you have a lot of success with it.
