I'm not sure what this type of flying insect it is as it was black rather than blue. If anyone knows, please tell me. I thought it looked nice though and kept going back to the water lily. Again it took ages to get a decent shot as I wanted to catch it in flight but didn't really achieve any good pics so decided to post this one of it just sitting on the water lily. It was really nice out for my walk today so peaceful with just the birds singing and the sound of rabbits running away as I turned the corner!
" . . . the sound of rabbits running away " . . . precious! You paint a lovely sound picture Rosie . . . was one of them white, and looking at his watch?
This is a lovely shot and I think it's a damsel fly - they fold their wings along and parallel ot their bodies when resting whilst dragon flies have theirs sticking out to the side or slightly forward. They come in different colours!
