This is a diary shot for Judith Johnson who planted her potatoes yesterday. I planted mine on 17 March St Patrick's Day and as Ireland were famous for the potato famine in history, I thought they might bring me the luck of the Irish when I planted them on St Patrick's Day. I think that's a bit Irish really - my way of thinking I mean!
So sorry I missed this one! I was told it was traditional to plant potatoes on Good Friday but it doesn't make sense to me as it changes every year. I have been very late with everything this year, possibly because of the very wet ground when we came back from NZ. Now everything is so dry that the onions are starting to go to seed!
