I shouldn't take so many photos as I never know which ones to post but I thought I would post this one of the goldfinch. This was taken in Wood Lane this afternoon so I've had a lovely day doing what I love to do - taking photographs! My camera is being very naughty so it's a wonder I manage to get anything. I can't decide whether to go to John Lewis in Cambridge before I go to the Bird of Prey Centre on Friday because if they decide on a repair, I won't have it for Friday so I think I might wait until next week to take it back. It's just a lot of guesswork trying to get the exposure right.
It was so frustrating when I was down Wood Lane because I had waited ages to see the birds who were twittering in the brambles because I couldn't make up my mind what it sounded like and along came someone in a car to ask directions as she said she thought she had turned off the main road too soon. She was right! It meant that I didn't get a shot as I saw movement in the brambles when she called out to me. People just don't understand wildlife photography and the fact that you often only get one chance! Anyway, on the way back, I stopped and I could hear the twittering again. Then along came a female blackbird with a beak full of worms and I then realised that the twittering was her babies shouting for their food! She flew off before I could get a shot - shame as it would have been a nice one.
