This black-backed jackal had caught a rodent (not sure what exactly!) for breakfast.

@summerfield Vikki, this chap crossed the road ahead of us and then stopped to look back. He was about 50 or so meters from the car. I only realised that he had something in his mouth once I downloaded the pictures. Jackal are quite elusive and are not often seen. I was really pleased to get this one.
