Red Bishop by salza

Red Bishop

This is a Red bishop male who is loosing his breeding plumage and going back to being a little brown bird! In full breeding plumage these birds are a wonderful red and black ( http://365project.org/salza/365/2011-11-11)

Alternate capture: http://365project.org/salza/extras/2015-01-16
so that is what a red bishop looks like without his red cape/cloak. just like a little sparrow with touches of red
Thanks for sharing this

@ninaganci Nina, the red patches will also be gone. Non-breeding plumage is just brown, males and females look the same.
