Helping someone to document the cameras in her late husband's collection. She is looking to sell them but had no idea where to start. I found a possible dealer, they want photos of the cameras and any lenses. This camera is one of the collection. It's an Exakta

Oh the nostalgia, wonderful. My friend's hubby owns a camera shop and sells vintage things too. There are people out there who buy and sell. Wishing her well.
@casablanca Sally, I collect vintage lenses (and cameras) and attach the lenses to my Sony DSLR camera. Casa' pointed me in your direction as someone who wanted some help .
The world of selling old cameras and lenses is a bit of a minefield.
You will find that the lenses are probably more valuable as a sale item than the camera body (although some classic SLR bodies are much sought after). The lens details can usually be determined from inside the barrel around the glass e.g. "Carl Zeiss Jena Panacolour 50/2" / "pentacon 50/1.8" . The Exakta's would have been manufactured in Dresden, East Germany and were well respected and manufactured in high numbers.
Obviously ebay is a starting point for guidance (look for sold items rather than items for sale) but if you don't know what you are selling you may get your fingers burnt. I get my lenses and camera from charity shops and bought a few duff one's before I knew what I was buying.
Most SLR cameras came with a 50mm prime lenses and these take amazing photos when attached to modern DSLR's via an adapter.
I'd recommend you itemise what's in the collection (make an inventory) and do a few google searches. If you want to, you can email me the list (email in my profile) and I will check the items and tell you if your friend has any rare / collectable items.
My favourite lenses are Russian lenses, which are relatively cheap and are stunning pieces of glass as they are essentially copies of Leica's, Zeiss etc.
@phil_howcroft Phil, thank you so much for your message. I have taken photos of the cameras and lenses that are there. There's also a lot of parts and tools used in repairing cameras as the gentleman who passed also fixed up old cameras. There's also over 50 reels of film. At present I have sent pictures to two people in Cape Town who sell vintage cameras. I had a quick look on ebay but I have no idea what I'm looking for or at. Unfortunately my knowledge of film cameras etc is decidedly limited.
I can email you the link to Dropbox where I put the photos. The lady who has the collection has absolutely no idea about photography let alone vintage cameras.
Once again thank you for your help.
