This pipeline used to carry water from the Waitawheta River to Paeroa where the famous Lemon & Paeroa fizzy drinks were made.
The pipeline was de-commissioned as development on the tracks evolved late 70's.
This is the valve that turned the water off for pipe maintenance I understand.
