Something is really wrong, why has that person moved seats? Oh 'no mask', silly me. As an island NZ has been in a better position to manage Covid. I rarely use public transport but masks are necessary!

Nice perspective. In the UK we have just lost most of the legal restrictions for Covid, but mask-wearing on public transport will still be recommended and required by most transport operators.
@peadar It's good to see the way different populations are managing, it is laissez faire outside the main cities here in NZ. Most people still have not been offered vaccinations but the focus remains on managing at the border. There are cases in managed isolation facilities. I now carry masks.
