This is the most recent and last picture of my dad with his last born great grandson. To my misfortune, my dad passed away on 2nd October, when I was on the way to North Wales with my wife, daughter and son-in-law for a week’s holiday after attending my son-in-law’s graduation as Master in Business Management at Henley University, U.K.
This is the second of the most luckless days of my life – my mum also died while I was in Scotland with my family on holiday 7 years ago. On that occasion my family and I rushed back to Malta for the funeral but this time I decided otherwise.
My dad was a quiet man who dedicated his life to raising a family of 5 children. He was loved by all those who came in contact with him and was well known in Sliema as he was one of the remaining tailors in the area. He also participated in parish activities in his beloved parish of Stella Maris.
Rest in peace dad. You will always be in our hearts.
Dione, so sorry to hear about your loss. It is so hard, and especially when you are away. It makes you feel so helpless. Thoughts and prayers your way. This is a priceless photo, one that will always remain special I'm sure.,
This is a great photo of Nannu Karm - he will be missed by all who knew him as he was a great man. It is always hard to part from our loved ones but it is a sad part of life that unfortunately we have to cope with.
Your brothers, your sister and yourself took excellent loving care of your father until the day of his loss and he therefore received all the love that he deserved for raising such a lovely family. I will treasure his memories and those of his wife forever as they are genuinely two of my heroes!
greetings - I am so sorry to hear of your Dad passing away - both of my parents have passed away and what struck me was that I am now the "older" generation - and that the stories that they had tucked away in their memory are gone, an era the way they worked so hard to make a living is so changed. Your Dad looks like a wonderful compassionate father.
@mrssmith Thank you for your nice thoughts. We are not here to stay for ever. At least my dad had a full life - he lived to be 95 - and was not in pain. In fact he had been up and about on the eve of his death as usual.
